You shine so bright, keeping a close eye on me

You ask me if I had a choice

What would I be?

I say I would be a writer, a lover or a staunch supporter.

I would encourage and brighten everyone else in the dark

I would sing with a voice that would make the angels smile

I would smile with my lips and would lighten the night

I would ask for a moment with my father again

To tell him I love him and I do understand

But until I make it through this tunnel of darkness

I will keep my dream silent, protected from strife

For as you know bright star

There is a world just waiting

To see us all fall, leaving us to bleed
